This New Jersey barrier is prefabricated using concrete with RcK > 450 daN/cm² and reinforced with Fe B44K steel, approximately 138 kg of steel per element (including Dywidag bar).
Dimensions: length: 5.98 meters; width: 0.500 meters (base) / 0.230 meters (top); height: 1.00 meter. Weight: approximately 4,600 kg per element.
At the top, a Ø 20 Dywidag bar is embedded in the concrete, allowing mutual connection between adjacent elements via a compensation sleeve. Additional connection at the base is made using a hot-dip galvanized steel plate of dimensions 280x75x10 mm with tightening bolts for each joint.
The road barrier also includes:
- 4 steel plates of dimensions 100x150x10 mm with a 50 mm diameter hole, embedded in the cast for the placement of Liebig Ultraplus M16 threaded expansion anchors or similar, necessary for anchoring the barriers to the concrete curb;
- for versions equipped with a handrail, 2 steel anchor points embedded in the concrete for the handrail posts, each consisting of 4 Ø 20 Dywidag steel bars and a galvanized steel counterplate of dimensions 280x210x8 mm.
This New Jersey barrier model is used on viaduct edges, both new and old constructions, extra urban roads with embankments higher than 6.00 meters, and/or at the approach to artworks.
